Cubeb (Piper Cubeba) is a climbing shrub up to 6 m tall, with knotty - thickened stems, leathery dark green leaves and flowers collected in a cob-shaped inflorescence. Berries are collected in clusters resembling clusters of black pepper. They differ from black pepper as they have longer legs. Their color is dark green, with a gray tint. The fruits of Cubeb are hollow inside and contain black seeds. In the process of drying, the fruits darken, become gray-brown.
